CAL
Mom, why do people run marathons?
MICHELLE
I don't know, it's good exercise, and some people like to run.
CAL
But they have to run so fast and so far.
MICHELLE
Yeah, that's true. But, you know, some people enjoy that kind of thing.
CAL
Yeah. Crazy people.
(Edited to add: I was going through and labeling some old blog entries and found this conversation I had with Cal from around this time last year. Hee.)
cute!
ReplyDelete(And true.)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely true. I've never run a marathon and don't really plan on it, but my boyfriend loves running marathons and he's crazy. The good kind of crazy, of course.
ReplyDeleteHaha... smart smart boy!
ReplyDeletelol III run a lot. I love Cal. :)
ReplyDeleteHee! I feel the same way.
ReplyDeleteCal is wise. Wise beyond his years.
ReplyDeletewe all need a little crazy sometimes...
ReplyDeleteSo, last year, did he really think you said pickles, or was that an EXTREMELY clever (much better than I could have done at that age) cover?
ReplyDeleteI am totally with Cal on this one! In high school I ran cross country. For the life of me, I still cannot remember why. I was very bad, and remember hoping to sprain an ankle before races. Why did I persist? Why did I think I should like it? That madness has passed now. These days I loudly admit to loathing running, and I no longer do so unless chased.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Cal on this one!
ReplyDeleteit is called fittness...learn it
ReplyDeleteAlso, I would be in remiss not to point out this recent NY Times article:

(Upshot: Marathon runners are physiologically healthy, but suffer a lot of injuries, which makes them a problematic demographic for health insurance companies.)
I think your son and I would get along fabulously. Smart kid.
