more text message exchanges in the two doctor household

JOE
How's it going?

MICHELLE
Good. Finishing a case now.  You out of the OR?

JOE
Yup.

JOE
Totally nailed a big cosmetic reconstructive case today.

MICHELLE
You should really use sutures, not nails.

JOE
D'oh!

  1. Long time reader, first time poster -- but I have to ask: what case is both reconstructive and cosmetic?

  2. I'm no doctor but I was always under the impression that sutures leave minimum scaring as opposed to nails... :P

All reconstructive cases are also cosmetic in some way -- not only done for functional purposes but for appearance improvement. Not every cosmetic case is reconstructive, though.
Not a very funny text message exchange though

Exchanges between me (med student) and fiance (resident):

    Scene 1
Me: How's your review article [about PSA screening] going?
fiance: Oh, it's just flowing onto the page.

    Scene 2
Fiance, who begins palpating my spine while we're cuddling: You know, you'd be a really easy spinal tap.

    *Not* funny, Anonymous??
I thought it was hilarious! (I wouldn't mind seeing more of these....I'm sure this wasn't the only exchange of that type!)

  6. P.S. Why are there no shortage of "anonymous" jerks out there?

Another vote for funny--this one-week post-partum mom laughed her ass off. (And no, it's NOT just sleep deprivation hysteria.)
