full paper jacket

So...you guys want to see the book jacket? Sure you do.

(Click on the image for bigness, I know you can't really see anything when it's so small. Except for the little perforated fold marks. Helpful!)

Do you love it? I LOVE IT. It looks like a real book. And I love, love, love that the book is in hardcover. I usually take the book jacket off when I'm reading a hardcover (though--pro tip--the side folds make excellent bookmarks) I love how a book jacket looks and feels, and how, even when the jacket is off, a hardcover book looks so weighty and academic. Could be my crazy book, could be Dickens, who can say? Except to say that it looks hot! Literarily speaking! (Here's the part where I lick my finger and touch it to my own ass while I make a sizzling noise.)

Yes, anyway.

I would update more at this point except that since we got home from New York yesterday afternoon, Mack has been welded to my body. He's like one of those symbiotes in "Deep Space Nine," and yes, I watched "Deep Space Nine," more than one season, even if there wasn't a single really likable character in the whole show, what of it?

  9. Jean Luc Picard needs to go tell them to print books asap and put it out on the market. "make it so"!!!

  10. Love the book jacket, and love that you used "symbiote" in a sentence! Why, yes, I watched DS9, and I bemoan the absence of the Star Trek TV franchise, particularly ST:TNG.

  11. if there wasn't a single really likable character

    Not even Odo?

  12. Dude, ESPECIALLY Odo. He was like Eeyore.

  13. Odo was good, but give me Data anyday!

The Doctor on ST:Voyager was also a favorite (but then he was the only memorable character on that series apart from Captain Janeway & 7 of 9).

Oh dear, the dork in me is showing...

  15. Hi Michelle,

Do you know when your book comes out if it will be available on other e-reader sites, like sony?

    Thanks!

  16. Blasphemy! No likable characters!?!? I loved Captain Sisko, Jadzia, Quark, and Dr. Bashir. And in a weird way I really liked Gul Dukat. He was so strong and manly that even with his scales he was kind of hot. ;) Anyway, I would agree, though that it never compared to Voyager or Next Gen. Those will always be my favorites.

Sorry, this post was supposed to be about your book right? Congrats on that too. :)

  17. It looks great!

What happened to the pic Cal took?

  18. Agreed, ST:TNG was way better. I did, admittedly, watch ST:DS9 for way longer than the show deserved because I had a crush on Dr. Julian Bashir in my youth.

If you are really nice to your medical librarian, he or she probably has library style book jacket protectors and library tape to make it on notch fancier and libraryish. I'm just sayin'.

  21. The book cover is hot! Great job for your design team. Mack loves you, so bask in your loveliness. And I will be having surgery on pill hill next week. Hoping you are around.

  22. Hope, if you are at my hospital (hint: not the kids' one, and not the OB/Gyn one) and I am working in the main ORs that day, you can always ask for me, I would be pleased to stop by and say hi! Who knows, maybe I'll even be your anesthesiologist...

  24. Oh,man!! (To quote my son) I was just ready to pre-order on my Kindle and you showed the book cover! I may just have to buy the hard cover even though I love reading on my Kindle.

I wasn't a hard core DSN more of a Star Trek Voyager with Kate Mulgrew but both great shows!
